fluorite powder never clear?

We created an aquarium 75 gallons and 15 pounds added five sacks red fluorite. I said EPA employee not to wash the substrate before adding to the tank, as you would a normal gravel. Well, it's been a week and all the dirt and dust particles floating around and do my tank of a cloudy or dust settled on all floors and wood. He looks horrible as mud! I Flourite planted in a small tank but I clarified first because I saw it was dirty.
