fluorite cloudy
fluorite powder never clear?

We created an aquarium 75 gallons and 15 pounds added five sacks red fluorite. I said EPA employee not to wash the substrate before adding to the tank, as you would a normal gravel. Well, it's been a week and all the dirt and dust particles floating around and do my tank of a cloudy or dust settled on all floors and wood. He looks horrible as mud! This will be followed, and how long will it take?

I Flourite planted in a small tank but I clarified first because I saw it was dirty. The water that is released when the washing was incredibly dirty and muddy, so I know you speak you, but can not imagine the mess it created in the tank. I do not know what the EPA says it does not clear, I think he said, even bags rinse well before adding the tank. As someone said, a sponge filter would help a little, but with the amount of particles in the tank, stirring constantly whenever the substrate is altered. A diatomaceous filter would be much better, however, it would be nice to filter water and remove all the particles just passing through the filter regularly. I feel sorry about your problem, I wish I could most help. If it was a task, I recommend you remove all the substrate, causing disassembly of the tank, rinse well, then start from scratch. There are a lot of work, but it would solve their problems. Encore sorry again about the mess, if you have questions, but please send me e-mail. MFK
